REF 22/05/D-MA: Rocket Engine Test Engineer

POLARIS develops a novel type of reusable LOX/kerosene rocket engines optimized for powering reusable spaceplanes. The offered position covers assembly and testing of test articles, as well as support of vehicle integration and flight test campaigns.

We are looking for highly motivated, flexible and resilient applicants with a strong background in rocket engine design/assembly/testing. The willingness for frequent multi-day business trips to engine and/or flight vehicle test sites is mandatory.

Job Description

  • Assembly of test articles
  • Exchange with suppliers, partners and test-site operators
  • Lead preparation and execution of ground test campaigns for test articles
  • Manage test-range and test-stand safety procedures
  • Support engine integration in flight vehicles
  • Monitoring and control of engine operation in flight campaigns, post-flight data evaluation
  • Support development of rapid engine refurbishment/maintenance procedures
  • Documentation

Qualifications

  • Degree in aerospace engineering or similar
  • Strong background in rocket engine assembly, testing, test-stand operation
  • Solid experience in test instrumentation and data evaluation
  • Very good analytical thinking capabilities
  • Strong hands-on experience required
  • German & English language skills
  • Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, resilience & teamwork capability
